A great part of my job are the opportunities given to me to update my knowledge and refresh my own travel desires with such things a “ship inspections”!

Cruising has always been a passion of mine and I have been lucky to have sailed on quite a few ships of different sizes and shipping lines. So of course I was going to accept a lunch invite and an inspection onboard the MS Amsterdam when it called into Melbourne as part of a visit to Australia. Holland America Line is one of many cruise lines to frequently visit Australia, but also offering a variety of destinations and at very competitive prices.

I was very impressed with the MS Amsterdam, which only carries 1,380 guests, but has the feel of a smaller ship. The facilities and cabins that we inspected were very impressive, as was the lunch that we were served.
From the Spa & Salon to the theatre, the 3 restaurants, 2 pools, the practice tennis court plus the coffee and cakes, I could really see myself and more importantly, my clients, sailing on this ship!

It was a great day and well worth the trip to Melbourne for the visit!
