Paris .... Beautiful, Romantic, Surreal, Timeless.

I love Paris and have been fortunate enough to have been there a couple of times. From London I have travelled to Paris via the Eurostar and the ferry from Dover to Calais then a bus to Paris. Both were amazing ways to arrive in France, Eurostar is definitely the quicker way as it takes you right into Paris.

Whilst in Paris I stayed in a few types of accommodation, one being a mainstream hotel - Rydges Hotel Paris and the other a cute boutique hotel called Trocadero where I had a view of the Eiffel tower from my room. When I return to Paris I will certainly be staying in French boutique accommodation again as it makes the experience feel more authentic.

Of course in Paris I did everything French, ate croissants and drank coffee after coffee in little French cafes, drank French champagne, tried Escargot (a French delicacy) and of course shopped.

Paris was beautiful, classy and I loved being there and doing all the tourist things. I was mesmerised by the beauty and scale of the Eiffel Tower and went up it both during the day and at night. It was a magical experience, I walked, shopped and ate along the Champs-Élysées, visited the Louvre, went to a Sunday Church Service at the Notre Dame Cathedral, climbed up the Arc De Triomphe, glided down the Seine River- what an experience.... There is a reason why they call Paris “The City of Love”. It’s in the atmosphere!!!

Going to Euro Disney was a definite highlight and very easy to get to being an independent traveller. You can organise a bus tour or catch the train - it drops you off right at the park. This was something that wasn’t on my itinerary, a bit of a spur of the moment thing to do. It was fantastic and lots of fun going on the rides and seeing the Disney Characters. I felt like a kid all over again.

A vivid memory of Paris is all the statues and Gold on the statues. It was quite fascinating how many of these there were and I had no problem with the locals and speaking French. I found if I tried to speak in French they would speak English to me.

Paris to me is timeless, classy and magical and I can’t wait to visit again......
