The Sun Princess was ready to take our family from Brisbane to Sydney for a 2 night cruise. A weekender I would recommend to everybody. As one of my passions is cruising these 2 or 3 night cruises are perfect for a Short Break, and they are amazing value!
Our cruise fare included our entertainment, accommodation and our meals for the weekend so all we really had to decide was what and when to eat!
After quickly unpacking our bags in our new home for the next 2 nights (that is one thing we love about cruising...you don't have to live out of a suitcase) it is off to explore and familiarize ourselves with the ship. As lunch was ready when we stepped onboard we all enjoyed a wonderful buffet while the crew got ready to sail away.
After lunch it was up on deck ready for Sail Away and of course a cocktail as we meandered up the Brisbane River.
Cruising always makes me feel relaxed the minute we sail away from the dock. We enjoyed a few drinks as a family as Grandad and one of the children's uncles was with us on this trip.
Dinner, a show then some dancing before we headed off to bed ready to re-energize for our "Day at Sea".
The wonderful part of this type of getaway is everybody can do what interests them, yet we are still having a family break together. The children went swimming, I positioned myself up on the Sun deck with a good book, the men went for a walk around deck and then we all met up for a game of basketball before all having lunch together...then off our separate ways for more swimming, a game of golf and Mehmet and I treated ourselves to a wonderful "Couples massage" at the spa.
After a wonderful family dinner with our waiters spoiling us we took in the show, went dancing at the nightclub and retired to our cabins for a wonderful night’s sleep after a fun day.
All too soon we were sailing through the heads of Sydney and into what I believe is one of the most beautiful harbours in the world to sail into! Passing the Sydney Opera House, under the Harbour Bridge and docking in time to catch our flight home.
A wonderful family weekend away!
Cruising has something for everybody, is amazing value and if you have not cruised before and wanted to "Test the Waters" these short breaks are just perfect for you. Great for the couple wanting a Romantic Getaway or celebrating an anniversary, a girls or men’s weekend, a Birthday Celebration, a company incentive or don't have a reason at all...Just because you deserve it!
