Beautiful Bali is approx 7 Hours flight away from Melbourne with Major airlines like Jetstar, Virgin Blue, and Indonesia's own Garuda Indonesia offering direct services from Australia.
Bali offers an escape to Australians that is great value for money has good food, friendly people, and offers many things to do for all different types of travellers. Wether you are a family, a honeymoon couple or single and backpacking around this wonderful Island there will be something that suits you waiting for you in BALI.

Bali offers various areas of interest for alternative types of travellers, UBUD - thought to be the cultural capital of Bali Ubud is set in the hills of Central Bali and is filled with craftsmen, Museams, Galleries where guests from around the world seek artistic treasures carved with local balinese hands. Typically cooler than the beach areas of Bali Ubud is a retreat for the soul with most accommodations typically focused on the Spa retreat world and showering you with views of the valleys and rivers below. My thoughts of Ubud are to utilise it for all it's worth and either wind down immediately to start the holiday or finish the holiday winding down after shopping, eating, and partying in Beach Bali.
Sanur - typically known for it's watersports is also alive with restaurants, cafe's and bars all linked together by the beachside walkway. Sanur beach is a much less populated beach and thus offers a more laid back approach and is uncluttered and friendly too. the main roads of Sanur are littered with Boutiques, shops and more restaurants offering something to do when not on the watersports adrenalin trail, finish by watching the sunrise at historic Sanur beach.
Jimbaran, Nusa Dua &Tanjung Benoa - This area is the southern tip of Bali and was originally conceived to be a secure and peaceful resort area away from the typical hustle and bustle beach areas further north. With Jimbaran Bay the place to go for seafood, beach dining and barbecue restaurants shared with fine hotels and traditional Balineses fishing village this is a must to either stay or dine in fine surroundings. Tanjung Benoa and Nusa Dua is a peninsular area and although offers great watersports it also has some fine dining establishments and is sprinkled with excellent brand name resorts like Club Med, Grand Hyatt, Conrad, Novotel, Aston to name but a few along with the Bali golf and country club and Bali convention centre Tanjung Benoa has work, play and relaxation for Man, Woman, and child alike.
Legian to Kuta historically a fishing village known for the surf scene in the 70's this area retains much of it's original appeal as typically beachfront development, luxurious resorts line the beach and the streets behind them offer yet more vibrant dining, night life, shopping street lined temples keep the cultural aspect alive in what is typically western tourism. Kerobokan to Seminyak the villa capital of Bali where expatriates mingle and a more peaceful beach world is backed up by top class boutique hotels/villas restaurants, bars and clubs. Please don't be foolled though a cheap holiday can still be had in this exquisite area in your own personal villa as is also most of Bali which is why Bali is a major choice for Australians seeking sun, adventure, relaxation, shopping, fine dining and beach holidays all at a cost great for the Aussie dollar both in purchases and purchasing the holiday. My recommendation is to ignore historical booking patterns and create your own, typically a 5-7 night holiday is booked but with my personal knowledge and experience of several visits the last being 31 hotels/resorts in 6 days I find myself qualified to advise you to book anything from 7-14nights (budget approved of course) and have more than just one holiday by combining 2 or more of some of the areas listed above and have several types of holiday in one visit to Bali.
