Hi, I am Caroline or Caz (as my friends know me). I am a local small business owner of two small businesses, Travel Counsellors- Smiths Lake and The Kingfisher Cafe at Blueys Beach. I grew up in Taree, one hour north of Smith’s Lake (near Forster) where I now live.
I started my career in travel as a retail travel consultant in Forster for a major chain but felt there was something missing. I wanted to spend time with my clients, offer a more personalised level of service and be there from start to finish for each trip and more to the point be available to my clients when they needed me.
After researching home based travel agencies I came across Travel Counsellors. Their marketing message ‘With us it’s personal’ resonated with my values as a travel agent.
After just over a year in business I have no regrets. I am able to offer that personalised level of service that I was never able to before. I now meet my clients while walking our dogs along Blueys Beach near Forster or in local cafes. I have even been invited into some of my clients stunning homes.
Together my clients and I have ticked off bucket lists, travelled overseas for the first time, cruised the Pacific and even flown pets across the country together.
Thanks to my wonderful clients, twice a month you can also catch my radio show “Travel Talk” on Great Lakes FM.
Travel Counsellors encourages participation in community organisations. You can also find me once a month at the Forster Tuncurry Chamber of Commerce, Pacific Palms Evening View Club and as the Media Officer for The Pacific Palms Community Association.
Get in touch and let’s work on your next holiday together.
Please send me your holiday or travel requirements and I will do my best to help you.

The hotel was excellent. Room with amenities was great and right near the water with boats all around. The Gem Pier just out front of apartment. Ferry from South Bank Melbourne comes to this pier. We did not know about this until after we had arrived. Both flights were very good, no problems. The engagement party we attended at Quest was lovely, on the same floor as our room. How good was that. Thank you for your help with arrangements. Much appreciated.

Caroline has been an absolute gem to deal with. She is very knowledgeable, personable, efficient and enthusiastic. We are newly retired and ready to do some travelling. She has made the process of organising a long awaited and much anticipated visit to the UK with fabulous stopovers each way for an ex-pat who hasn't been 'home' for over 45 years turn from a burden to a joy. Can't imagine ever travelling in the future without her help and guidance.

Caroline was fabulous! Organised our Eastern Europe/Athens tour quickly and efficiently, delivered all the paperwork and fully explained all aspects of the holiday from start to finish. Also advised many of her "tips for travellers". Would certainly recommend Caroline to anyone seeking to organise a holiday overseas, and very much looking forward to our trip in a few weeks time.

I have known Caroline Cameron for more than two years now and she has organised many trips for me and some really good deals. Caroline is passionate about her work and that is evident in the care she takes with individual needs. She is a warm, welcoming and accessable person which makes dealing with her a real pleasure. Caroline pays great attention to detail and is always professional and reliable, being on the end of the phone when needed. I have been really happy with the travel packages Caroline has arranged for me and have no hesitation in reccommending her as your travel consultant.

I wanted to get something special for a 50th Wedding Anniversary gift - I thought I had a rough idea of what I wanted, but really, I was clueless. Caroline suggested multiple options for me. Clearly a wealth of knowledge, she answered my countless questions with the patience of a saint, and it was never any trouble at all when I changed my mind a few times. I was so impressed when the package arrived with a customised voucher for this gift. I have never dealt with someone so dedicated to helping their customers - a true professional that I would highly recommend to anyone.

All great travel stories usually begin and end with some sort of tale of eating or drinking the wrong thing and then spending well earned annual leave finding every toilet in sight. Or sitting on a long-haul flight and ending up with a cold then spending your trip looking for tissues. This is a common-sense guide on what to look out for when traveling or before you go. 1. Take probiotics at least 1 month before you go. These little gut protectors help you get used to the local food and line your stomach for any mishaps. 2. Only drink what you...

Dallas is quickly becoming more then a quick transist stop on the way to enjoying the rest of the United States. It has some stand alone attractions, delicious food and history. So how do you spend 48 hours? 1. Reunion Tower – Get some perspective. With 360-degree views of the city you can familiarise yourself and maybe have a cocktail. Lots of famous restaurants such as Wolfgang Puck’s restaurant nearby. 2. Trinity Groves – Who doesn’t like dining outdoors. There is also plenty of shopping and lots of variety of different cuisines to try. 3. Dealey Plaza- Reflect on history at Dealey Plaza where...

Our road trip to Gallipoli started with 4 Australians and a Kiwi crazily deciding that it would be a fantastic idea to hire a car and drive ourselves to Gallipoli. With a cursory look at the road rules the presentation of our drivers’ licenses and having only driven on the wrong side of the road once before in the USA (another story), we set off to tackle peak hour traffic of Istanbul. Armed with bags of Lays chips, some Fanta and our sense of adventure we set off. We had learnt earlier in our travels in the middle-east a car horn is...

Nepal to me is one of those destinations that never appeared on my bucket list and not a place that I ever considered going to. When my husband (an ex adventure guide) suggested we go there I decided to go along for the ride, even though this trip was a long way out of my comfort zone. Our first adventure in Nepal involved a short three-day hike in the Annapurna ranges followed by white water rafting on the Seti River and camping overnight before getting into a songthaew (a truck with bench seats) going to Lumbini the birthplace of budda,...

Knowing where airlines fly can make a difference to ticking off your bucket list and can add something extra to your next holiday. Have you thought about combining a Fiji stopover with a trip to the USA? This is one of my favourite ways to get my clients to the USA you get a beach break. How about combining Vietnam with Europe? Or stopping over in Dubai for a few days for a desert safari, shopping or experiencing the world’s tallest tower. Talking to a travel professional who understands routing of airlines and where they fly can not only save...

It’s that time of year again where the words office Kris Kringle send fear into the heart of shoppers. Especially when your office does the steal the present Kris Kringle. How do you make $10 stretch to buy something that people will like? The shame of your present being the one that nobody seems to want. It is just like being picked last on the team in primary school over again. Do you go the safe option of chocolates or a coffee cup? Kris Kringle takes on an entirely different meaning when you are traveling with a group in India....

There aren’t many people that will drop everything at short notice to see you, especially when they have busy careers and children to wrangle. Kristen and her husband Rob are two such people. So, when I get an enquiry about what to do when you have 48 hours in Vancouver Kristen is my go to person. Kristen is a Canadian National, Vancouver local (now based in Sydney) and lifelong friend wrapped up into one. She also loves Outlander as much as me. She has been my secret weapon against Google since the start of my career as a Travel Agent...

An ocean cruise never appealed to me. I hesitated for weeks before booking my trip on the Carnival Spirit and dragging my husband along for the ride. I had heard horror stories. It seemed everywhere I looked in the lead up to my trip I would hear in the media about drunken antics and illness on cruise ships and high seas. Was I really using my annual leave for this? For the first time in a long time I would be out of my comfort zone. Travel is all about pushing boundaries though and having new experiences....
