WOW what can I say, I am in love with Fiji!

Thank you- Fiji for a wonderful 8 days… 10 hotels… 5 Fiji Islands and the Mainland!

If you are looking for a tropical destination within easy reach, then Fiji is this place to go! A quick 5-hour flight will take you to paradise!

You can choose to stay either on the mainland or on one of the Islands, or why not have the best of both world. Getting across to the islands couldn’t be easier, you can cruise across with south sea cruises, which takes you around to the different island resort or take a speed boat with Sea Fiji. Sea Fiji has a strong reputation for its fast boat transfer service between Denarau and the Mamanuca Islands over the past 15years. The service is fantastic! If you really wanted to make memories jump on a sea plane, this in itself would be absolutely amazing seeing all the islands from above and how beautiful Fiji and her islands are!

If I could only pick 2 of the Island properties that really made a lasting impression with me, it would certainly have to be Tropica Island Resort and Castaway Island Resort. All the island resorts and the mainland hotel resorts we visited are fantastic and have different qualities for all types of travellers.

Tropica Island Resort is an Adults only resort. The service provided here is 5 star, Kaye and her team really look after you and nothing is too much trouble. You enter the resort via the jetty where all the staff will be greeting you with the Bula Maleya – the traditional Fijian welcome song. Hearing the song for the first time really does bring together the warmth of the Fijian people and the island hospitality. The resort is centred around the stunning 25m horizon pool. You have a choice of different bures which are dotted around the resort. There are only 24 bures in the resort which all offer breakfast included in the rate, with meal plans available you can add this on before you arrive and not have a second thought! 18 of the Bures offer their own private plunge pool. The sunsets in fiji are amazing, you can sit in the romantic sunset beach bar overlooking the water. The drinks are not overpriced and happy hour is always a popular time to visit the bar. They have a great range of water sports and nightly entertainment. I was lucky enough to experience a lovely massage in the tranquil spa. Super relaxing! The rooms are lovely and spacious, there is no Wi-Fi available in the rooms but I found that I had the best night sleep without being distracted by my phone. They do offer Wi-Fi in the main pool area, so you are still able to connect home and make everyone jealous with your photos. It really was such a relaxing experience!

Castaway Island Resort is a popular resort for couples, scuba diving holidays and family holidays. The team here are fantastic, greeting you from the boat with the Bula Maleya. Complete the check in process in the comfort of the shaded bar area overlooking the magnificent beach and ocean views. Castaway Island resort is all about disconnect and reconnect. Free yourself of technology and the pressures of the everyday world. I was lucky enough to have a guided tour around the resort with Meli who was very knowledgeable of the island and its history. The bures are set along the water’s edge and through the lush tropical gardens. The bures have a traditional feel to them, the beds are super comfy. Castaway is great for families and run a fantastic kids club and babysitting service, they have a kid friendly pool with a quiet pool nearby which offers the swim up pool bar. In low tide you are able to walk around the resort along the beach which only takes 45min, or grab a kayak and paddle your way around. The resort has a large number of water sports and activities as well as offering excursion to nearby islands. My fondest memory of my time here was heading out on a private speed boat which Meli arrange to visit Monuriki island where Tom Hanks filmed Castaway. They have a great range of menus to choose from across 4 different restaurants. Head up to the sunset bar and enjoy the good company and the stunning sunsets! Overall a fantastic experience and well recommend.

Fiji is now my number one beach holiday location in the south pacific! I loved it that much, I am heading back there for a week later in the year. Maybe I'll see you there! x
